Since the late 1960's when the last remaining steam locomotive clanked and rattled along to its fate at a scrapyard, and the age of steam had finally come to an end, interest in the UK railway preservation movement has increased in leaps and bounds bringing back a bygone era of times past .
For many decades past, heritage railways – such as standard gauge, narrow gauge light and miniature railways – have sprung up at countless locations across the UK recreating the golden age of steam!
