56 Class 390 Pendolino Trains To Be Repainted by Alstom

Class 390 Virgin Pendolino Trains

Angel Trains, one of the UK's leading train leasing companies since 1994, have contracted Alstom, who provide equipment and services for the railway sector, to repaint 56 Virgin Trains West Coast Main Line Class 390 Pendolino trains.

The repainting work , at a cost of 28m Euros, is expected to be completed by December 2019.

Each Pendolino train will take two weeks to paint at Alstom's new technology centre in Widnes, which is still under construction and expected to open in May 2017.

The 'tilting' Class 390 Pendolino electric trains, with a top speed of 140 mph, began service on the West Coast Main Line on the 23rd July 2002 replacing loco-hauled passenger services headed by locomotive classes - 86, 87 and 90.
